ECF5040 Industry Economics - one page writeup of the final project proposal
Hi All,
In response to some clarification questions I received, your one page writeup of the final project proposal should include the following:
1. What is the industry (both in product/service and geography space) and company you are analyzing?
2. What is the exact problem or phenomenon you are analyzing? What concept(s) we covered in the course does this relate to?
3. Brief description of the industry or firm you are analyzing + initial results of your analysis of the question outlined in 2.
4. What sources are you using to inform your analysis? Please include all, no matter whether this is a descriptive source or actual data.
Remember:
A) your final project will be evaluated based on your analysis, not on simply describing facts that you read or learn from the business owner whose company you analyze. If you would like an analogy, in the Harvard Business School cases we have worked through during the class, the case you needed to read at home provided you with the facts. What we did in the writeup at home and in the class together was analyze the case. The same applies here: you will get evaluated based on the analysis part, not based on the fact description part.
B) never forget to include all the relevant citations when you are producing a written piece!
