ACFI151 – Business Simulation: SimVenture report (20%)
This report represents 20% of the overall mark for this module. It is to be completed as a
group and one overall mark will be awarded, which all members of the group receive. The
report is based on the business you will run in SimVenture. There should be three elements
to your report:
1. Four six monthly reports covering the following periods:
i) 1st January 2017 to 30th June 2018
ii) 1st July 2017 to 31st December 2017
iii) 1st January 2018 to 30th June 2018
iv) 1st July 2018 to 31st December 2018
More detailed guidance on this is provided over the page and an example six
monthly report is on Vital (Assessments > Assessment 1 > Example six monthly
report).
2. Appendix 1: Two profit and loss accounts covering the following periods:
i) 1st January 2017 to 31st December 2017
ii) 1st January 2018 to 31st December 2018
SimVenture produces these for you although you and it is acceptable to use a screen
print for this.
3. Appendix 2: A summary of group meetings held detailing the following; date,
location, duration, items discussed, those who attended and those who could not
(apologies).
One report per group should be submitted by 2pm on 23rd November 2016 using dual
submission. You must hand in a hard copy to the Student Support Office (post into the
black submission boxes outside the office). You must also submit a soft copy via Turnitin,
which is a plagiarism and collusion detection system.
There is no set word limit for the report although it is expected that 8-10 pages (font size
12) should be sufficient to cover element 1. The report produced should be professional
both in terms of appearance and language used.
