“Noah’s principle: one survives not by predicting rain but by building arks.
Once seemingly calm and tranquil, business environments are becoming increasingly uncertain and turbulent. Swirling gusts of technological, competitive, political, and marketplace changes are sweeping across the global business landscape. “
Redding, J.C. and Catalanello, R.F. (1994). Strategic readiness.

Many organisations are responding to these turbulent conditions by building ‘arks’ in the form of new, communication practices. Some of these represent fundamental shifts in thinking about communication, management and organisation. This assignment gives you the opportunity to look at how an emerging practice in management communication may be affecting an organisation with which you are familiar.
Complete the following:
1 Introduction
Introduce the practice by reviewing relevant literature and placing it within the appropriate context. What has led to the emergence of this communication practice? (approx. 500 words)
2 Findings
Report on evidence of the extent to which this practice is currently affecting your chosen organisation. Finding evidence will involve reflection on personal experience and interviews/conversations with organisational members. Company publications may also provide useful information. We expect that publications referred to will be ones already in the public domain; if you include sensitive material that needs to remain confidential, please indicate this on your assignment. Where confidentiality is an issue, the only people to see your work will be the marker and the course co-ordinator. (approx. 1000 words)
3 Conclusions
Suggest ways in which the practice may impact on the organisation’s future and what changes might there be in the kind of leadership needed? (approx. 1000 words)
4 Recommendations
Discuss specific actions that could be taken in relation to the emerging communication practice in order to utilise it in the best possible way(s).
