1. Academic Essay (1500 words).

You must select an example of a 'branded space' and examine it in detail usingrelevant theories and ideas explored in the seminars.Your essay must containcritical ideas from relevant texts we have read this term.Try to explain the ideas inthese texts in your own words, and demonstrate how they relate to the brandedspace you have chosen.

Your essay should be accompanied by images that you refer to in your essay in orderto make your explanation clearer. Please do not use images just simply as decoration: if you don't discuss them in your argument in detail they should not bethere.

The essay is intended to be an independently researched paper written to level 2standards. You are responsible for deciding on the space and the texts you use butplease check your choice of case study with your tutor to make sure you're on theright track. You are also responsible for defining the title of your essay

2. Blog Posts x 5

You should put your selected blog posts in PDF format and include them with your essay as asingle PDF(max 20MB).The text must be readable and images laid out clearly.

There is no set word count for the blogs, but you should aim for between 300 - 1000 wordsper post. They should demonstrate participation and personal development- by summarizing the weekly texts in your own words, reflecting on the seminars, commentingon visits etc. Each week, you will be given a blog task and you must keep your blog up-to-date. You may wish to write blog posts of your own devising, which is great, as long as theyrelate to the themes and critical ideas we cover in Branding Spaces. You cannot use blogposts that were written last year or for another course.
