Course Description: Logistics System
INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
• Maximum words are 3000 words in total for all your answers.
• Please upload final take home examination onto myRMIT (go to “Assessment Tasks” section – then select “Final Take Home Examination Submission” then upload your file onto this section). You are required to submit this exam at WEEK 12 on 15th October 2015, 8.30pm (the latest please).
• Ensure you have a cover sheet and write all your details on the cover sheet.
• You need to have a reference list. There are no limitations of the reference lists.
• Appendixes are not required for this assessment.
• Marking criteria:
• Clarity (20%)
• Recommendation/strategic/immediate actions require - Realistic (Achievable) (20%)
• Analysis/Discussion - Comprehensiveness (30%)
• Theoretical/Literature review - Evidence (30%)
There are two parts of this final take home examination:
PART A. Students need to do a compulsory question (40%)
According to the literature, there are four types of logistics/supply chain performance indicators. They are supply chain efficiency, supply chain responsiveness, supply chain flexibility and supply chain quality management. In addition, there are several logistics/supply chain practices to improve the logistics/supply chain performance. They are continuous improvement, strategic supplier partnerships, customer relationships, lean six sigma, agile supply chain and innovation. Please see Figure 1.
Please provide critical analysis on the recent literature review in logistics/supply chain performance indicators and logistics/supply chain practices. To support your answer, you may use any examples from Australian Companies.
Please note: you may choose one logistics/supply chain performance indicators and two logistics/supply chain practices.
PART B. Students need to provide a critical analysis of the article below (60%):
“Capturing food logistics: a literature review and research agend”
